Assembly Reminds Us That Heteronormativity Is Boring

One of our favorite unisex lines, Assembly, is giving us a timely update on androgyny-chic in its spring '13 lookbook. We're drooling over the wide-legged trousers the female model is sporting just as much as we are lovin' that sapphire-blue button-up on the guys — and, really, what's to stop us from sporting both? We're pretty sure Assembly would approve. Here's proof.
The new collection comes with loose draping and baggy silhouettes that create the perfect "frankly-my-dear-I-don't-give-a-damn" cool. These gorgeous pieces pair easily together and allow for endless style possibilities for women and men (resulting in a new battle of the sexes: the who-wore-it-better edition). The lookbook's interpretation has us envisioning ourselves working all the looks of the line, as we strut down a busy, urban avenue, à la Andrej Pejic (or Casey Legler) on a Parisian runway.
Ladies and gentlemen, cast off those passé gender norms and click through.
