R. Kelly, Tegan And Sara, & More Shows This Week

Metz, Hunters: Mercury Lounge, November 19, $10
Canadian hardcore dudes Metz were the talk of CMJ this year, playing sets that blew minds (and eardrums) with its ferocious no-holds-barred approach to punk. Hunters, too, bring the noise, with bandleaders Derek Watson and Isabel Almeida trading harmonies and guitar licks like the rock stars they’re destined to become. If you can’t make it tonight, Metz is also playing tomorrow at the BK Knitting Factory.
Monday, November 19, 9:30 p.m., Mercury Lounge, 217 East Houston Street (between Essex and Ludlow streets); 212-260-4700.
Brooklyn Night Bazaar: 45 N. 5th Street, November 23 and 24, FREE
Weekend evenings filled with artisanal eats and independent musicians return this year from November 23 through December 22 in Williamsburg. This Friday, the Brooklyn Night Bazaar features Kyp Malone (of TV on the Radio), Pictureplane, and more, while Saturday is headlined by French Horn Rebellion. (Insert: “Dinner never sounded this good” joke here.)
November 23 and 24, 6 p.m. to midnight, 45 North 5th Street, (enter between Wythe and Kent Aves.), Brooklyn; no phone.
Taking Back Sunday (performing “Tell All Your Friends”): Terminal 5, November 23, $25
Sure, we’ve seen reunions and full-album performances from virtually every band imaginable over the last few years, but there’s still something special about watching Taking Back Sunday perform its glorious emo debut “Tell All Your Friends” in its entirety. (Then again, it could also be that this writer was thirteen when the record came out). Let the late-’90s emo nostalgia wave begin.
Friday, November 23, 8 p.m., Terminal 5, 610 West 56th Street (between 11th and 12th avenues); 212-582-6600.
