Designer To Know: SoCal Cool Comes To The District

On our list of red-hot emerging designers, Raquel Allegra is right near the top. The West Coast-based clothing queen earned fame way back in 2006, when she got her start turning L.A. County Jail T-shirts into one-of-a-kind tops, which were spotted on the likes of Nicole Richie and Penélope Cruz. Now, her line is truly head to toe, complete with skirts, trousers, dresses, and even an e-commerce store.
If you're as intrigued as we are, you're in luck: She's bringing her unique blend of edgy-casual pieces to the District for her very own trunk show — starting today. Georgetown mainstay (and R29 favorite!) Hu's Wear will host the California girl, showing off the newest trends to hit her collection. You'll be able to pad your wardrobe with easy, brunch-perfect separates, and maybe even snag some styling advice, to boot.
If you can't wait until the clock ticks 5 to get your hands on Allegra's line, fret no more. We've got a sneak peek at the goods that will be on display, so you can start planning your new outfits right from your desk. Click through to see them all, and start California dreamin'.
When: Thursday, October 25 through Saturday, October 27, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Sunday, October 28, from noon to 5 p.m.
Where: Hu's Wear, 2906 M Street NW; 202-342-2020.
