Soon, You'll Be Able To Buy Uniqlo Online (Along With $10 Jeans)

For basics that aren't served to you with a side of cheesecake (ahem, American Apparel), Uniqlo can't really be beat. With classic cuts, loads of relevant designer collaborations, and quality manufacturing (not to mention innovative products — HeatTech, anyone?), Uniqlo somehow manages to deliver not-boring basics at very reasonable prices. The only downside? There are only five stores in the United States, and the brand doesn't sell online for U.S. audiences…but we won't have to wait much longer for e-commerce.
Uniqlo chairman Tadashi Yanai revealed to WWD that he's planning on opening up a U.S.-based HQ in Silicon Valley that'll handle American e-commerce. There will be a much larger range of colors as well as sizes (for example, men's shirts come in six sizes in stores, but online they'll come in 115). While no launch date has been set yet, the promotions have already been decided on: $9.90 Japanese denim, $49.90 down jackets, and $59.90 - $99.90 cashmere sweaters.
