Meet Vince Camuto, Plus More Stellar Events This Week!

There’s something oh-so-right about a well-rounded itinerary full of exciting happenings. And this week’s agenda certainly fits the bill. From art galleries and shopping extravaganzas to outdoor markets and even celebrity sightings, this week’s hottest events leave no one bored to tears. Stroll through the list below and discover that home (er, your couch) isn’t always where your heart lies.
Gallery For The People Pop-Up
Being a city on the opposite side of the state, it’s not very often that big-name actresses leave the Hollywood hills for our topsy-turvy city. That’s about to change this Thursday, as Ides Of March and Crazy Stupid Love star Marissa Tomei will be stopping by. The starlet will be hosting Gallery For The People’s fall pop-up, alongside Juxtapoz Magazine ’s editor-in-chief Evan Pricco, where a trio of artists will be presenting their creations. The migrating gallery of artistic wonders will only be displayed this night only, and RSVP is mandatory, so secure your spot to this star-clad soirée without skipping another beat.
When: Thursday, October 18, 6 to 9 p.m.
Where: Stonebrook Estate, 12335 Stonebrook Court (near El Monte Road) Los Altos Hills; No phone.
RSVP: by Wednesday, October 17
The Bradshaw Effect Clothing Swap
As fashion fanatics, we’re forever cursed with an insatiable craving for new threads — but an account balance of near zero can sometimes get in our way. So, how does a sartorial go-getter avoid an empty piggy bank? The Bradshaw Effect’s latest shindig seems to have the right idea. This Saturday, we can partake in its clothing swap and exchange our so-yesterday wares for tomorrow’s must-haves. Not only is this event friendly on our budgets and the environment, but the swap’s $10 at the door donations benefit The Princess Project. Plus, as your shopping bag fills up, so can you, thanks to lip-smacking margaritas and yummy bites. We dare you to try and keep us away from an event this rad. It wouldn’t be pretty!
When: Saturday, October 20, 3:30 to 5:00 p.m.
Where: Celia’s By The Beach, 4019 Judah Street (at 45th Avenue); 415-759-8741.
The Lower Haight Urban Air Market
What is it about an urban air market that’s so irresistible? Our theory is the 200 local vendors, but it could easily be the decadent food and drink offerings. Either way, we couldn’t be more thrilled that the Lower Haight is hosting its very own rendition this Saturday! At the scene, expect to shop to your hearts content, from locally crafted bips and bops to made-in-the-Bay threads stitched by indie designers. This air market marks the hood’s first stab at the bazaar, so stop by and make shopping history!
When: Saturday, October 20, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Where: At Haight and Fillmore Streets
