5 Things To Do This Week In L.A.

This week's itinerary is all about having a good time without dropping big bucks. Save for that '80s dance party on Friday (only $20!), every event this week is free of charge. Unless of course, you're interested in picking up some swag at a Saint Laurent-themed shindig or downtown pop-up shop — but that's your prerogative! Either way, save some goodies for us!
Get Your Saint Laurent On, Pre-Paris Fashion Week
If the Saint Laurent runway show at Paris Fashion Week is practically inked in blood in your planner, then you'll definitely want to stop by What Goes Around Comes Around tomorrow evening. Shop the store's collection of original pieces, and snag yourself some YSL-inspired nail art, courtesy of our friends at NCLA. And, to top it all off, Little Black Dress vodka and Frosted cupcakes will be available for noshing while shopping — bon appétit!
When: Wednesday, September 26, 7 to 9 p.m.
Where: What Goes Around Comes Around, 159 South La Brea Avenue (between West 1st and West 2nd streets); 323-933-0250.
Poketo's Pop-Up Imports An S.F. Pub To SoCal
Swing by the Bold Rush, a pop-up shop and art show collab with our new fave downtown shopping destination, Poketo, and The Bold Italic magazine. While the event takes place over two evenings, we suggest you hit the opening night for treats from R29 fave Rice Paper Scissors and a live performance by the East LA Empaths. Don't forget those dancing shoes — there will be DJ sets aplenty (can you think of a better way to burn off that pork belly bánh mì?).
When: Friday, September 28, and Saturday, September 29, 6 to 9 p.m.
Where: Poketo, 820 East Third Street (between South Hewitt and South Garey Streets); 213-537-0751.
What A Treat! Cornelia Guest Does Double Duty
Her godparents were the Duke and Duchess of Windsor, and her mother called Diana Vreeland, Cecil Beaton, and Truman Capote her companions — so, whenever Cornelia Guest talks, we listen. The former celebutante will be promoting her new cookbook Simple Pleasures, which features healthy recipes and entertaining tips at two L.A. locations this week. She'll be celebrating alongside the folks at Sotheby's on Friday night, and discussing perfect fall handbags the following day at Bloomingdale's. Which soirée will you choose?
When: Friday, September 28, 6 to 8 p.m.
Where: Sotheby's, 9200 West Sunset Boulevard, Suite 170 (between Corey Avenue and Phyllis Street); no phone.
RSVP: 310-274-0340 or here
When: Saturday, September 29, noon to 4 p.m.
Where: Bloomingdale's Century City, 10250 Santa Monica Boulevard (at Avenue of the Stars); 310-772-2100.
Say Good-Bye To Summer In ('80s) Style
Break out the shoulder pads, because Saturday night's ode to all things '80s is sure to be a blast! With the Go-Go's in tow, this event is the perfect way to bid adieu to warm summer days, and say hello to crisp fall nights. Looks like those leg warmers will come in handy after all!
When: Saturday, September 29, 7 p.m.
Where: Hollywood Bowl, 2301 North Highland Avenue (near Route 101); 323-850-2000.
Catch Up On Some Reading At The WeHo Book Fair
Trust us, this annual event isn't just for bookworms. Bravo enthusiasts should stop by on Sunday for an appearance by RHOBH star Kyle Richards, who will be promoting her new book Life is Not A Reality Show. The free event will also feature cooking demos, poetry readings, and must-see panels. Time to geek out!
When: Sunday, September 30, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Where: West Hollywood Library and West Hollywood Park, 625 North San Vicente Boulevard (near Melrose Avenue); 310-652-5340.
