Win Tickets To Glamorama, Plus 4 Other Things To Do This Week!

While our Instragram feeds seem only capable of loading bedazzling fashion week snaps, that doesn’t mean New York gets to have all the fun. Right here in the Bay, we’ve found a slew of swanky happenings that don’t leave any free space on our iCals. From a Japanese botanical workshop to a charity-fashion jamboree, our roundup will (almost!) have you forgetting about those spring shows.
Macy’s Glamorama
We’re always up for a posh party for a good cause. So, we’re loving this fashion soiree’s philanthropic focus. Macy’s Glamorama bash, happening this Friday, is benefitting the fight against childhood illness, cancer, HIV, and AIDS. And San Francisco is just one of four cities hosting the event — letting us take part in its rad spectacles. From a runway showdown of Calvin Klein and Tommy Hilfiger designs to live performances by Robin Thicke and Karmin, we can’t think of anything more glitzy than this. Wait, we can — two lucky winners will score a pair of tickets to the bash by telling us their definition of glamour in the comments. Have at it!
When: Friday, Saturday 14, 8 p.m.
Where: Orpheum Theatre, 1192 Market Street (at 8th Street); 415-551-2000.
Tickets: $79 to $1,000; Buy here!
Ram's Gate Winery's Harvest Extravaganza
Looking for an out-of-office escape? Turn off all your devices (well, except maybe GPS) and head out to Ram’s Gate Winery for the ultimate outdoor excursion. The winery’s Harvest Extravaganza kicks off with a mouth-watering breakfast at Chef’s Table, followed by a fruit-crushing lesson and picnic with winemaker Jesse Fox. Finally, top off the day with feet-tapping live tunes, dancing, and a yummy dinner. All this, without the need for 3G? We’re so in.
When: Saturday, September 15, 9 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Where: Ram’s Gate Winery, 28700 Arnold Drive (near Mangel Ranch Road), Sonoma; 707-721-8700.

Clary Sage Organics Anniversary Party
We’re clearly not alone in our obsession with Fillmore's eco hotspot Clary Sage Organics. The wellness center meets boutique is celebrating four years strong in the local biz. And at this Saturday’s anniversary bash, we can help it blow out the candles with exclusive store savings, live jams, and tasty fare. Plus, we get a first look at Clary Sage’s latest fall collection and artwork created by Nicole Buffett (Warren's granddaughter)!
When: Saturday, September 15, at 7 p.m.
Where: Clary Sage Organics, 2241 Fillmore Street (at Clay Street); 415-673-7300.
Indie Photobook Library Exhibition
We have a feeling this three-part photo series will give fresh meaning to the term “snap happy.” Gallery Carte Blanche is hosting the third Indie Photobook Library exhibition, featuring documentary-style photobooks from the 21st century, all on display for our peeping pleasure. Flip through the photos at this Friday’s opening reception, then get inside details at Saturday’s panel. And if you feel so inspired, take part in the photobook workshop and learn the tools to self-publish.
When: Friday, September 14, through Sunday, September 16
Where: Carte Blanche Gallery and Bookstore, 973 Valencia Street (between 21st and Liberty streets); 415-821-1055.
Tickets: Workshop: $150; Buy here!
Curious Kokedama
From glass terrariums to vertical gardens, we’re more than big fans of plant DIYs. You, too? Then, head over to Oakland for the latest green-thumb workshop. Crimson Horticultural Rarities will be teaching the plant-growing secrets to blooming Japanese kokedama bonsai balls that would instantly add lush greenery to any urban dwelling.

Where: Crimson Horticultural Rarities, 470A 49th Street (at Clarke Street); 510-992-3359.
