Think you can't fit a vacation into a normal weekend? Wrong. Short-but-sweet getaways are all we dream about during summer workdays.... but if you're don't spend all of your daydreaming hours making packing lists, you might have failed to think of a few key items to take along for the ride.
Relax, we've totally got your back. We're got the ultimate pack-and-prep primer for an awesome two- (okay, maybe three-) day escape. And because not everyone is a sand-and-seashell kind of traveler (or, maybe you are), we've narrowed things down for four different kinds of vacations. Bring on the sun, surf, city, or wilderness — no matter the destination, we're so outta here!
Camping Under The Stars — Now's your chance to get back in touch with Mother Nature. No, it's not quite glamping, but that doesn' t mean you can't do it in style. Besides the usual suspects, like long sleeves in case it gets cold, facial wipes for easy clean ups, and pair of shoes that won't give up on you, be sure to prepare ahead with the coolest camping (read: cooking) gear. Because, really, aren't epic s'mores the ultimate reward for a full day of roughing it?

Tropical Getaway — A tropical island is the ultimate weekend indulgence filled with sun and sand. It calls for your spiciest bathing suit and colors as bright as the island itself. Go overboard and get lavish with a fancy cocktail, dinner on the beach, and dancing to live music. Where to skimp? On the packing, of course. Dresses that double as chic lunch wear and a beauty product that do double — make that quadruple — duty will work best.

Escape To The Cape — Enjoy a laid-back weekend sailing and catching rays in your favorite maritime town. Plan ahead with effortlessly elegant pieces, including a sexy yet sophisticated swimsuit, a tied-up tote that's easy to stash away, and rope espadrilles that will pretty much go with everything. Sorry for sounding like your mom, but throw an anorak into your weekender bag, too. You'll thank us when the breeze off the coastline kicks in.

City Slicker Excursion — If your idea of a vacation doesn't necessarily mean a slower pace, take a few days to tour a big city, then cross it off your bucket list. Since you'll definitely be exploring, bring a guide, breathable shoes you can walk (a lot) in, and can roam in, sunrise to sunset. Thanks to a crossbody carryall, go ahead and get the full hands-on experience in an unknown territory...then sanitize before diving head-first into the local fare.
