Supermodels! Temples! Gowns! MAJOR Outfit Inspo From 2 A-List Parties

Calm isn't the word to describe Thursday nights in NYC, and last evening was no exception — if anything, it seemed like the city was on a massive dose of speed. With so many events — A.P.C.'s 25th Anniversary, The Cinema Society's Twilight screening, DANNIJO's resort collection celebration — we couldn't hit 'em all up without a couple of clones, meaning we had to ride out the FOMO and conserve our cab fare. Plus, we didn't want to fall victim to the one stop, one drink thing — we do work on Fridays, after all.
First up? A birthday party, of course! Yes, W turned 40 (and released a book: W: The First 40 Years), and, in lieu of ice cream cake, the premier (provocative) fashion bible threw a dinner and after-party at Gramercy Park Hotel with a little help from its buddy Tod's. The Rose Bar was hopping during the candlelit supper and the candle-blowing continued on the roof, where (BELVEDERE)RED was flowing faster than W can produce blow-your-mind, borderline-NSFW editorials.
Duly fortified against the chill, we made the trek to Gossip Girl territory for the always-glam Apollo Circle Benefit at The Met. Hosted by the likes of Lauren Santo Domingo, Hilary Rhoda, and Jessica Stam (as well as sponsor Carolina Herrara, whose dresses were everywhere we looked), the annual gala benefits the "Young Friends" program, specifically aimed at educating the 21 to 39 set about the museum's collections and exhibitions. Well, consider last night's rager a lesson in Egyptology — revelers click-clacked through the empty corridors to emerge into the famed Temple of Dendur, tricked out like a surreal nightclub and shaking to the beats of Call Me Maybe. Don't worry, we took some Instagram pics of the hieroglyphics to study over the weekend.
With CRJ stuck in our membrane, we beat the exodus early for a quick sit on those endless steps, where we may or may not have enacted a particularly juicy Blair Waldorf-to-her-minions moment. Exit stage right, save for a quick Acme drive-by for one last shimmy and perhaps a slice of pizza at that semi-sketch place on St. Mark's (you know what we're talking about). As we noted early, TGIF isn't an excuse to sleep in...and we did have an early call time.
