Our favorite warm-weather women's shoes and sandals take neutral ground. By Christene Barberich & Piera Gelardi
It's ironically refreshing that some designers took a break from the seasonal brights to explore their inner beige. Opening Ceremony's leather and canvas spectator with cut-outs offers a must-have summer platform with old-world substance; Tashkent and Rachel Comey both accented mighty thick wood wedges—Tashkent's with summery burlap and Comey's with creamy perforated leather. Martin Margiela and A.P.C. both took the simplicity of cork to new places; and N.D.C.'s perfect little Beatle boot offered a flawless year-round staple to start breaking in pronto. Here's more of spring's shoes that go well beyond the pale.
