Yayoi, Raf, & Anna Karenina Will Battle It Out For Design Of The Year

The Oscar nominations may have been a tad disappointing — particularly for Ben Affleck — but it's nice to know that at least some award shows get it right. Take a look at the just-announced nominees in the fashion category for the Design Museum's Designs of the Year award, honouring 2012's top achievements: Artist Yayoi Kusama's collaboration with Louis Vuitton, Raf Simons' spring/summer '13 collection for Dior, Jacqueline Durran's costumes for Anna Karenina, fall '12 collections from Giles Deacon, Craig Green, Proenza Schouler, and Comme des Garçons, Prada's auto-obsessed spring '12 range, and the fashion films I Want Muscle and Diana Vreeland: The Eye Has To Travel.
The prize winner won't be named until April 17, but with the nominated wares going on display at the museum from March 20 through July 7, we say everybody wins.
