Disney Asked 9 Designers To Create Their Version Of Cinderella’s Glass Slipper

From a young age, we dreamed about our Cinderella moment. But, for us, it wasn't so much about finding Prince Charming. It was more about the real fairy godmother gift: that perfect shoe. You know, that glorious, life-affirming shoe that makes you feel full of potential, grace, and grit — something you can also find in a life partner, sure, but can you keep a closet full of those on rotation?
Disney recently asked nine fashion designers to create their own interpretations of the iconic glass slipper in anticipation of its live-action film starring Cate Blanchett and Lily James. While a few designers have made versions in the past (namely, Marc Jacobs and Louboutin), this batch is an official Disney collaboration and will be sold in shops around the world, including Saks Fifth Avenue in New York and Beverly Hills, Harrods in London, and Galeries Lafayette in Paris. And, since we don't have magic-wand dust to make them sparkle, Swarovski has stepped up to provide that shine.
Says Disney Entertainment's vice president of consumer products Jonathan Symington, "Cinderella's glass slipper has become a magical symbol of transformation." Spoken like a true shoe horse.
