Chloé. Attitudes: Yet Another Reason To Book A Ticket To Paris

Queen Liz isn’t the only one indulging in a big birthday bash this year. Revered fashion house Chloé is celebrating its whopping 60-year contribution to the industry as well. Marking the occasion by profiling its long legacy of luxury, Chloé. Attitudes is the first exhibition dedicated solely to the brand, showcasing its seven-decade span of dressing the "modern woman."
We know what you’re thinking — between this and the Diamond Jubilee, our stomachs really can't handle another cupcake — but this time, fortunately, it’s less about the crafty confections and more about the keepsakes.
Located in Paris' Palais de Tokyo, the anniversary exhibit features the top 70 designs from the brand’s nine key designers. Let us remind you that Stella McCartney, Phoebe Philo, and Lagerfeld all had turns at the helm of the couture powerhouse.
Yes, there are likely to be swathes of chiffon and a soft lady-like peach here or there, but Clare Waight Keller confirms that 60 years of perfecting a brand involves so much more than just rehashing bohemian trends. “The process of researching this anniversary show has been enlightening for me as it contradicted my preconceptions of Chloé’s design history completely," Keller states. "Whereas I’d imagined something very Bohemian in spirit, in reality, it’s much, much more than that. What we found is quite provocative and powerful…They speak to an independent woman who embraces the challenges of modern life.“
Low and behold, the most exciting part is that next February sees the reintroduction of 16 Chloé classics of yore. That’s right, the archives are opening up not only for exhibit's sake, but also for your closet, with the chance to snap up the likes of Stella’s pineapple tee of ’01, Phoebe Philo’s Paddington Bag of ’05 and Lagerfeld’s Violin Dress of ’83 as part of the édition Anniversaire collection. Ahead, we have a peek at the never-seen drawings and prints from legendary photogs including Helmut Newton and Guy Bourdin, soon to be a part of the exciting exhibit, as well. All hail the modern woman! Grâce à Chloé, elle vie!
