Grouplove's "Tounge Tied" seemed to be the theme song of last night — from a fist pumping remix at the actual awards ceremony (sung by Princeton's acapella group The Princeton Footnotes to usher in Tommy Hilgifer's Geoffrey Beene Lifetime Achievement Award) to Mia Moretti's get-up-and-dance version at the Swarovski After Party for CFDA Awards, we can't seem to get the jam out of our brains. Good thing, too; It's hard to get our energy to Red Bull level on a Monday — not to mention the fear of a week-ruining Tuesday hangover — but the tunage (and some endless Rihanna) made the Boom Boom Room Top of The Standard feel more like a Thursday than a manic...well, we're not going to repeat the "M" word.
With Seth Meyer's hilarious and oft-controversial hosting duties behind us (one snippet: "Fashion and comedy go together like Galliano and Bar Mitzvahs."), we were ready to celebrate with all the fashion "Oscar" winners, nominees, and their supporters, including R29 faves like Monique Péan, Lily Kwong, Prabal Gurung, Brad Goreski, Jessica Stam (on the arm of her jocktastic boyfriend Charlie), Hanuk Hanuk, Sophia Bush, Michelle Harper...the list is as endless as Lauren Santo Domingo's red carpet winners. And the ooh la la outfits — as The Glamourai's Kelly Framel asked on the roof, "Don't you just wish people dressed up like this every night?" While our shoes didn't come off à la Karolina Kurkova, we hit those trippy elevators as sweaty as a Soul Cycle class, happy that our potential a.m. headaches would be mitigated by our Azalia Banks "212" dance routine. Seriously, we burned enough calories that we slept in and skipped the gym.
