Grab Your S.O.! (Candle)Lights Are On At These Two West Side Restos

Sandy:

you may take our iPhones, you may take us out of our apartments, but damn it, you won't take our liberty to dine out! Nope, in the last few days, we've learned that while our "need" for now-indisposed creature comforts (hot water: ahh, we hardly knew ye) has basically left the building, as it turns out, we're complete suckers when it comes to a candlelit dinner.

You too? Well, whether you're looking to rekindle (hardy har har) your fraught relationship with your boo, keep the love-fest flowing, or roll with your besties, you're in luck: Meatpacking's best wood-burning oven will be firing-up tonight at Barrio 47, serving up flame-broiled bites like strip steak, chicken, plus veg-friendy dishes too. Everything electric will be off, of course, but you can count on candles, candles, oh, and more candles. The same low-light setting will be happening at their Southward neighbor's place in Hudson Square. At 508 Gastrobrewery, Chef Jen Hill's designed a short menu of her Italian-American fare to pair with Brewmaster Anderson's house-brewed dark ale, rye IPA, and our favorite stout in the city (coffee and mexican-chocolate!) — all on tap tonight. Cheers!
