West Hollywood may soon become the first city in the nation to go fur-free, with a campaign to completely ban the sale of fur. One of the most progressive locales when it comes to animal rights and welfare, WeHo was declared a "Cruelty Free Zone For Animals" way back in 1989 when it banned cosmetic testing on animals. With over 50 million animals killed for their fur each year, the new campaign, headed by Fur Free WeHo, is gaining momentum in the lead up to the city council elections, to be held on March 8th.
