Cameron Diaz’s NYC-Inspired Shoes Are Not So NYC-Friendly

No matter how much we love heels, even we know there's a time and place to rock stilettos. And, New York City winter — with its polar vortices and mysterious slush — is not that time. However, Cameron Diaz's fall '14 collection for Pour La Victoire hopes you'll fear not snow nor sleet and will instead give these very high-heeled booties a go once the temperature starts to drop.
The brand's strappy boots boast dark hues as well as fur-and-suede detailing appropriate for cold-weather wear. But, while aesthetically reminiscent of an NYC winter, five-inch heels are not exactly what us city dwellers need from a good seasonal shoe. While Diaz explained to Vogue UK that function drove her designs, we're not so sure the stiletto would fare well in the snow, let alone when battling our cold-weather nemesis, Black Ice On The Subway Stairs. We're sure the heels are great for a temperate December out in L.A. — but, us New Yorkers still rely on rubber soles during the snowy months.
However, the Pour La Victoire Fall '14 collection also includes a collection of handbags and accessories — Diaz's first for the line — that are ideal for the busy commuter: spacious, versatile, and with lots of zippers. WWD reports that prices go from $195 to $495. Check out some of Diaz's designs ahead. As for us New Yorkers, we'll be scoping out a purse to match our snow boots.
