When Karyn Craven of Burning Torch opened her premiere outpost on Abbot Kinney Boulevard, we knew the most happening shopping destination in America was about to get a serious upgrade. Add in the fact that the 1,000-square-foot space was once former Jefferson Airplane member Lee Michaels’ recording studio and a boxing ring where Muhammad Ali trained, and you've got the recipe for a super-stylish and historically cool hot spot.
Naturally, whenever we pay BT a visit, we end up losing track of time. Between the racks of unique up-cycled wares and copious amounts of comfy chairs, we inevitably spend more hours there than waiting in line for The Tasting Kitchen.
