This Entire Runway Show Was Inspired By Alexa Chung

If we're giving proper credit where it's due, Alexa Chung deserves a whole lot of props for setting off the schoolgirl-rocker trends that started in the late '00s. Her Luella-meets-Woolrich-meets-Chanel aesthetic has launched a dozen of copycats, and we even admit to Google-image searching pictures of Chung in the morning when we're personally stuck in a wardrobe rut.
For its fall '13 show, Blugirl explicitly referenced Alexa Chung's style, from her penchant for trade plaid skirts and Peter Pan collars to fuzzy leopard coats to her singular styling quirks, like wearing little socks worn with vintage-inspired boots and dresses on top of pullovers. While some of the retro throwbacks were awfully charming, others (like the Chinese dragons motifs, bubble hems, and neck ruffs) might have been best left in the past.
