The Gymwear That Might Make An Appearance At Fashion Week

Betsey Johnson is here to ensure your workout wardrobe has enough pink, sparkle, and edge. The designer just launched her first activewear collection, available now on her brand's website as well as at Macy’s and Nordstrom.
"BJ loves Kicking A! I'm so excited about the collaboration for the new active wear collection, which I feel has the perfect mix of performance, prettiness, and punk," Johnson says in a press release.
Fans know that a performance-ending cartwheel is the Betsey Johnson equivalent of a mic-drop. Unsurprisingly, her new line is inspired by a similar high-energy stunt: Johnson's Fall/Winter 2013 show, where she put her models to work by having them exercise on the runway. The line mixes fitness-performance features and fabrics with Johnson’s signature, playful aesthetic. Cases in point: moisture-wicking leggings with perforated, faux-leather trim; tanks with mesh cut-outs; and leopard-print track pants.
While WWD reports that Johnson “hates working out,” the designer will be one of the featured dancers on the upcoming season of Dancing With The Stars — proving that she doesn’t mind working up a sweat, just as long as she's having fun while she's at it. (By the looks of Betsey's high-kicks, we bet we can guess what her workout personality is.)
Click through to see a few of the pieces from the so-called ass-kicking collection. We’re keeping our fingers crossed for some jumping jacks and tango action at Johnson's runway show later this week.
