Kim Gordon, Dum Dum Girls, & More Shows To Catch This Week

Neutral Milk Hotel: Webster Hall, January 27 and 28, $38.50
We don't usually feature a band two weeks in a row, but then again, most bands aren't Neutral Milk Hotel. After three nights at BAM, Jeff Mangum and the Elephant 6 collective will take on the more traditional rock-band scenery of Webster Hall. Don't miss out.
Monday and Tuesday, January 27 and 28, Webster Hall, 125 East 11th Street (between 3rd and 4th Avenues); 212-353-1600.

Dum Dum Girls, Sapphire Mansions, The New Lines: Mercury Lounge, January 30, $15
With its new LP Too True, Dum Dum Girls sheds the fuzz-rock veneer for a slickly produced pop record that doesn't disappoint. The band's show at Mercury Lounge is likely a prelude to much larger venues, so see them up close while you can.
Thursday, January 30, 9:30 p.m., Mercury Lounge, 217 East Houston Street (between Essex and Ludlow Streets); 212-260-4700.

Kim Gordon: MoMA PS1, February 2, $18
Any excuse to visit PS1 is fine with us, so heading to Queens to check out Kim Gordon this Sunday is a no-brainer. Gordon will be playing with German artist/musician Jutta Koether, whose paintings are worth seeking out, too. It's also a great reason to check out Mike Kelley's jaw-dropping retrospective before it closes. Basically, you have no excuse for not going.
Sunday, February 2, 4 p.m., MoMA PS1, 22-25 Jackson Avenue; Long Island City, NY; 718-784-2084.
