You Should Definitely Follow These Celebs On Instagram In 2020

Oftentimes, the start of a new year means turning over a new leaf. Perhaps you've decided you want your 2020 self to be more fun and more positive. But perhaps you're also honest enough to know that your fun and positive new self will still participate in a fair amount of scrolling through social media. If that's the case, you might need some new celeb accounts to follow on Instagram as 2020 kicks off. You know, the type of celeb accounts that will bring smiles, inspiration, and — in one case — the potential for reality TV spoilers.

The following celebrity Instagram accounts all either make sense to follow in 2020 because the celeb has a big upcoming project or two this year, or because they're just a good follow who you might not already be aware of. For starters, Cardi B will be releasing a new album and commenting on the presidential election, and there's a new To All The Boys love interest in the mix.

Some of the celebrities you may already follow, some of them may become new favorites, and some of them you may already purposely not follow. The choice is yours! Except when it comes to Tracee Ellis Ross. Her feed is pure light and any decision against following her is just willful joylessness.

Lizzo

While it seems as if she spent all of 2019 touring, that train won't stop in 2020 as she heads to Australia. But aside from tour photos, Lizzo's Instagram delivers a dose of inspiration and a boost to your confidence, just like her songs. You'll want to achieve your goals, love yourself for who you are, and appreciate your body even more. You'll also make sure you get tickets to her show next time she swings by your neck of the woods.

Henry Golding

Over the past couple of years Henry Golding has had a huge rise as an actor starring in Crazy Rich Asians, A Simple Favor, and Last Christmas. And things aren't slowing down in 2020; audiences will see him in The Gentlemen and Snake Eyes. He's sharing about all his experiences, as well as his home life and travels, on Instagram, where he somehow only has a million followers.

Barbie Ferreira

The Euphoria star was a breakout during the series' run over the summer of 2019, but she's always led with confidence on her Insta. Come for the BTS pics with the Euphoria cast as the series ramps up for its second season, stay for the ~lewks~ and style inspo.

Harry Styles

Harry Styles posts the most when he's on tour, and since he's starting a lengthy tour this spring, it's a good time to follow him. Most of the beautiful shots he shares from backstage at his shows and on stage are from photographer Hélène Pambrun.

Jordan Fisher

Don't know who Fisher is yet? Oh you will, come February. He plays Noah Centineo's romantic rival John Ambrose in the To All The Boys I Loved Before sequel, and from the looks of the trailer and promo photos, hearts will be stolen. And if all goes well, primo behind-the-scenes photos and press tour Instagram stories will be posted.

Lana Condor

While we're at it, make sure you're following the star of To All The Boys I Loved Before, Lana Condor, ASAP. That press tour is going to be downright adorable and there's no better guide to all of that than Lara Jean herself.

Anthony Ramos

If you thought Hamilton fever ended, you'd be dead wrong. It's just grown up, had some kids, and branched out. Lin-Manuel Miranda's hit musical launched Ramos into Broadway stardom, and now, he's the face of Miranda's movie musical (adapted from the stage show) In The Heights. Go ahead and follow Ramos now, so you're ahead of the curve when his Usnavi has everyone swooning this summer.

Keke Palmer

Keke Palmer had a big 2019 with Hustlers, joining the talk show Strahan, Sara, & Keke, and her "Sorry to this man" meme, and the fun is continuing into the new decade. Palmer loves memes and makes plenty of them involving herself on Instagram. She also films hilarious videos on the platform, including ones involving her dramatic character "Lady Miss." And since she's got that daytime gig, the fun's just going to keep coming in 2020.

Cardi B

For hilarious posts from someone who never holds back, Cardi B is the person to follow. Passionate about politics, she'll certainly be posting about the 2020 presidential election. She has an album coming out, which will mean plenty of posts about her music. And she also shares about her relationship with Offset and their daughter, Kulture. Just look at this ridiculous house tour they just did.

Billy Porter

Another entertainer who had a big year in 2019 is Billy Porter, who became the first openly gay black man to win a lead actor Emmy when he won for Pose. He also made a huge splash for his style choices, and that's the number one reason to follow him on Instagram. Porter loves a slow-motion model walk that shows off his full, amazing looks and he's sure to be a 2020 Awards Season staple, plus he's got the press tour for 2020's Like A Boss on his docket.

Jennifer Lopez

In 2020, Jennifer Lopez is performing at the Super Bowl halftime show, might become an Oscar nominee (and winner?), and is getting married. There's going to be a ton of award season content from her this year, as well as her usual — and very cute — posts about her life with her family.

Florence Pugh

If her last few months on Instagram are any indication, Pugh likes to have a good time with her co-stars... and share it with the internet at large. While you may not yet know her name by heart, you've seen Pugh everywhere in 2019 (Midsommar, Little Women, and Fighting with My Family) and in 2020, she'll star alongside Scarlett Johansson in Black Widow. So what we're really saying is follow her before that Marvel press tour gets underway and the antics really begin.

Tracee Ellis Ross

Tracee Ellis Ross' Instagram is just a fun, joyful place full of goofy videos, the dramatic modeling of brightly colored outfits, and her entire family wearing onesies. If you need more silliness in your life (and we all do), follow her.

The Duke & Duchess Of Sussex

If you aren't already following Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, you might want to get on that. Not only do they occasionally make royal watchers happy with exclusive photos of their family, but they also honor a set of charitable organizations each month.

Mandy Moore

Mandy Moore has some of the best throwback posts out there, especially because she includes ones from the early days of her bubblegum pop career. She also has behind-the-scenes pics from This Is Us and she's going on tour this spring. Her feed paints the image of a cool, chill person, who just happens to have been famous for most of her life.

Emma Watson

Emma Watson is known first as an actor, and while her Instagram does have posts about her films (most recently, Little Women) and reunions with Harry Potter co-stars, there's a lot to learn on her page, too. For starters, she's very active in the fight for women's equality and vocal about sustainability, especially when it comes to the fashion industry.

Peter Weber

If you're a fan of The Bachelor, then you might want to add new lead Peter Weber to your follow list to kick off the new year. His Bachelor season starts January 6, which means his Instagram will soon be full of hints at who wins — or posts to throw fans off the scent.

Jennifer Garner

Jennifer Garner posts just a bunch of really random things that all fit the category of "nice." There's little stories about her life is a parent. There's random pictures of nature that she didn't even take. There's her chicken coop. There's photos of things she's baked. There's her freaking out about Julie Andrews calling her. There's nothing necessarily urgent about her feed. It's just... nice.

Zendaya

Lastly — and only because her name starts with a "Z" — we have Zendaya. The singer-actor-designer's Instagram has it all, just like she does. Following her will definitely bring a lot of glamor to your feed, but there's also cute pics of her as a kid, behind-the-scenes moments from set, and looks at what really goes into all her amazing ensembles. Following Zendaya will make your 2020 more fabulous and more fun.
