What To Watch Next If You Love The Cast Of Like A Boss

What do you get when you combine a lot of funny people together for one movie? Well, hopefully, you get a funny movie. But we’ll let you be the judge of Like A Boss, 2020’s first comedy of the year which stars far too many funny people — and it’s not like that’s a bad thing, as the film is completely stacked with comedians from all over. If the movie's looking to hit a funny people quota, it succeeds.

However, Like A Boss isn’t just one stand up routine after another, as it tells the story of Mia (Tiffany Haddish) and Mel (Rose Byrne), best friends who run a successful makeup business together... until they discover they’re actually in the red. So in steps another successful businesswoman (Salma Hayek) who offers to help them out. If you’ve seen even one single trailer for this movie you know that Hayek’s character is just in it to steal their ideas, leading Mia and Mel to turn into their own badass bosses.

Upon exiting Like A Boss, you might be wondering where you can watch other things starring the funny people in the movie, and don’t you worry. Here’s what you should check out next for everyone.

Rose Byrne Plays Mel Paige

You might think of Byrne is a comedy goddess right now, but that wasn’t always the case as she got her start in FX’s Damages across from Glenn Close, which is a great FX thriller before FX was even making thrillers. But then, Byrne took a huge comedic turn and won us over as Helen Harris III in Bridesmaids, and there’s been no stopping the laughs since. But, if you’re looking for something more comic-y, Byrne also played a perfect Moira MacTaggert in the latest X-Men saga.

Tiffany Haddish Plays Mia Carter

The movie that put Haddish on the map is also the one you need to see immediately if you haven’t already (or watch again if it’s been a while). Girls Trip came out of nowhere and took us all by storm, and made Haddish a household name (especially for what she suggests doing with a grapefruit — don’t try it at home). Another thing you must check out (which also might be a sore subject, because Netflix canceled it) is the short-lived Tuca & Bertie in which Haddish voiced Tuca, a 30-something tucan.

Salma Hayek Plays Claire Luna

By this point, it might be easier to ask what hasn’t Hayak been in, as she’s got dozens and dozens of credits to her name. But if you only have time to make it through a few of them, Frida is a great place to start as she played the titular Frida Kahlo and racked up a bunch of acting nominations. But, if you’re looking for something a little bit campier, Wild Wild West is always a weirdly good time, along with one of her latest, The HItman’s Bodyguard (plus, they’re making a sequel all about Hayek’s character).

Billy Porter Plays Barrett

One of Porter’s best roles is also one you can’t readily see, as he originated the role of Lola in Kinky Boots on Broadway. So, instead, we’re just going to have to watch him steal every scene of FX’s Pose, in which he plays Pray Tell. The role has gotten him a handful of acting nominations and an Emmy.

Jennifer Coolidge Plays Sydney

Though in the scheme of the movie, Coolidge’s role in Legally Blonde is on the smaller site it’s definitely one of her most recognizable (and iconic) roles as Elle Woods’ best friend. But, it is actually a legal requirement that you watch all her appearances in Christopher Guest’s movies, including Best In Show, A Mighty Wind, and For Your Consideration. Also, season 10, episode 3 of Friends where she plays Rachel and Phoebe's friend, Amanda Buffamonteezi.

Jessica St. Clair Plays Kim

St. Clair has certainly been in comedies like Bridesmaids and dramedies like Life As We Know It, but to see her really shine, turn to TV. She’s been creating quirky comedies with her real-life best friend Lennon Parham for the past few years, including the gems Playing House and the appropriately titled Best Friends Forever.

Karan Soni Plays Josh Tinker

Soni plays the beloved (by Wade Wilson) Dopinder in Deadpool 1 and 2, and also can’t seem to bring Melissa McCarthy the right food in the 2016 Ghostbusters remake. But if you’re in the spirit for something more festive for the holidays, Soni plays Nate in Office Christmas Party.

Ryan Hansen Plays Greg

One of Hansen’s best roles is also one of the ones we love to hate, as he’s such a good bro playing the appropriately named Dick in Veronica Mars (and in the movie, the new Hulu revival, and the web series Play It Again, Dick, too). He was also great in the beloved Party Down playing Shep, and then played himself in Ryan Hansen Solves Crimes on Television even though the series was actually on YouTube. Shrug.

Ari Graynor Plays Angela

Graynor had the honor to play Juliette/"Lisa" in The Disaster Artist about the cult-fave The Room. And yes she played the “Lisa" of the "you're tearing me apart, Lisa" fame. She also popped up in Whip It and Nick and Nora’s Infinite Playlist, but if you want something a little more sci-fi, she played Rachel/Kelsie on Fringe.

Jimmy O. Yang Plays Ron

Yang had a wild role in Crazy Rich Asians playing Bernard Tai, and a more subdued (but still kinda wild) role in Silicon Valley playing Jian-Yang. If you’re looking to read something by Yang rather than watch it, he wrote How to American, and then went on a comedy tour of the same name to promote the book.
