Nails Were The Most Underrated Part Of The Met Gala Red Carpet
If you're having a hard time understanding this year's Met Gala Camp theme, well, you're not alone. In simpler terms, it's all about over-the-top, gaudy, extravagant fashion, and celebrities delivered with various interpretations of of camp throughout the night. She also decked out Elle Fanning's coral extensions with quirky decals, including a neon-green telephone and french fries. To achieve her look, the nail artist used the shade Strike A Rose from Essie's 2019 summer collection and charms from E Village Collective.
Mei Kawajiri shared a close up of Dua Lipa's mani, which reminded us of stained glass.
Tom Bachik looked to candy wrappers as inspo for Hailee Steinfeld's mint-green mani.
The most over-the-top nail look of the night goes to Solange, who showed up to the Met Gala with Ferragamo snakeskin on her fingernails. Her manicurist Pipbuzzz created the look with material sourced from the fashion house and Kiss products.
Manicurist Jenny Bui used OPI polish in Candied Kingdom to match Cardi B's nails to her show-stopping dress. To take her mani to the next level, Bui spent three hours decking Cardi's tips out in 250 Swarovski crystals.
