Netflix originals have been providing plenty of scares this October, from The Haunting of Hill House to Making a Murderer. Now, the streaming service is offering a very different holiday fare: the romantic Christmas movie.
The Holiday Calendar’s premise is pretty straightforward: “what if you could unwrap your future?” the trailer asks. Kat Graham stars as Abby, a photographer who discovers an advent calendar that appears to predict the future. A love triangle ensues, because of course it does. The film also stars Quincy Brown and Ethan Peck.
With the right mixture of witty and Hallmark-sweet, The Holiday Calendar promises to be the perfect feel-good holiday movie. The film has a lot to live up to; it comes on the heels of 2017's A Christmas Prince, a runaway success for the streaming service. It will also have to hold its own against the Christmas Prince sequel, which is also coming out this holiday season.
