Easy Last-Minute Celebrity Costumes Right In Time For Halloween

Not to freak you out or anything, but we have less a week to go until Halloween. It's game time, people. If you're a loyal fan of the holiday, then you've been hard at work creating elaborate costumes, prosthetic body parts, and intense make-up looks despite 2020's hurdles. You're ready to celebrate Halloween in a socially distant way, which for many means pulling out all the stops for one perfect Instagram photo. There's no reason not to utterly transform yourself into your favorite pop culture figure even though you're inside your home.

If you're anything like me, you rely on what's in your closet to throw together a passable Halloween costume. With the simple ingredients of black jeans, a black shirt, and sunglasses, you can actually form quite a few celebrity costumes.

Christine Quinn from Netflix's Selling Sunset

Christine Quinn, the unofficial villain of Selling Sunset, is the hit show's easiest — and most recognizable — costume. Quinn even broke down how to dress up as her in this story, but it's quite easy so I'll make it quick: Wear a green blazer, like this one, some fake glasses (or real!), and then politely gossip about your friends behind their back all night. Oh, and you need this platinum blonde wig.

Kim Kardashian

Be casual Kim. Wear black leggings, a low-cut black top, and heavy smoky eye. The most important part? Contour, baby.

Tom Cruise as Joel Goodsen in

Risky Business

This costume's so simple you'll wonder how you haven't thought of it already. Wear an oversized, button-up white shirt. Then, wear long white socks with white sneakers. Finish the costume off with sunglasses. You are done, and you are unmistakably that guy from Risky Business.

Kylie Jenner

We have a whole guide devoted to this (potentially) very elaborate topic. But for an easy option, be Kylie at her most casual, decked out in athleisure. First, put some Kardashian locks on your head. Wear black leggings, a sleeveless black crop top, and sneakers. The costume wouldn't be complete without a hoodie around your waist.

Victoria Beckham

If you already have short brown hair, then Beckham's just a black dress and sunglasses away. Tie your hair back into a bun, and let a few strands hang out.

Anna Wintour

The editor of Vogue hasn't changed her look much in the past few decades — and why would you? An Anna Wintour costume is in the same nesting doll as a Victoria Beckham one. All you need is a sleek, short dress, and sunglasses. Only the hair should change. Get a wig to achieve the signature Wintour bob.

Audrey Hepburn as Holly Golightly in

Breakfast at Tiffany's

Has it been done before? Yes. Should it be done again? Yes. Wear a black dress, a string of pearls, and red lipstick. Look coy, because you are Holly Golightly, and your life is worthy of a novel. You are living in a New York brownstone and are socializing with the intelligentsia.

John Lennon & Yoko Ono

Jamie Chung showed how easy a John and Yoko costume is, so long as you have the Lennon hair and the defiant, '60s attitude. John should wear circular glasses and a New York City T-shirt. Yoko just needs something drapey, flowey, and carefree. Top it off with a big hat.

John Travolta and Olivia Newton John as Danny and Sandy in

Grease

If you're doing a couples costume, then have the other person dress up as Danny from Grease by wearing black jeans, a white shirt, a leather jacket, and Danny hair.

Lady Gaga as Jo Calderone

So many of Gaga's outfits would make good Halloween costumes. Jo Calderone, her male alter ego, makes for the most undeniably simple one. Jo wears a dirty white shirt, a suit jacket, and black pants. You can get a Danny Zuko wig to complete the look.

Lorde

Calling all curly girls! No wig required for this costume. Wear a long, dark coat, with a long, dark dress. Coat your lips in a layer of dark burgundy or black lipstick. Then, wear combat boots. Walk around dancing to the song in your head.
