You Need To See How Much Noah Cyrus Has Changed

Since making her Disney Channel debut playing "Girl with ice cream" on Hannah Montana, Noah Cyrus has made an effort to stay out of the public eye, despite being part of a very famous family. But now, hot off the success of her new single, Make Me (Cry), the 17-year-old is ready to take on the entertainment world.

Her first step? Shedding her "baby sister" image for something more edgy. Sure, Cyrus is still in high school, but she's no stranger to the red carpet, and she doesn't play it safe — which is good news for those of us watching. She's had orange color, double buns, and blunt bangs. And she's also a big fan of doing her own makeup (how rare is that in Hollywood?). We caught up with the songstress earlier this week to get the inside scoop on her favorite (and not-so-favorite) looks over the years. Check 'em out in the slides ahead.

Cyrus attended the premiere of The Spy Next Door in an adorable ensemble, including glasses that would make Jenna Lyons jealous. "This was the day after my birthday. I had just turned 10," said Cyrus. "I loved those glasses. They were my brother's and I would wear them all the time!"

At age 10, Cyrus already had a knack for beauty. "I think me or my mom did my makeup for [the premiere of The Last Song]," she said. "I've always liked doing makeup myself. I've never liked having my makeup done. [The first makeup product I bought] was the BareMinerals foundation. I wasn't good at doing my makeup 'til last year."

This was the year Cyrus made a major hair change. "Look at those extensions! And those bangs were awful," she said. I remember [getting them cut]. I cut them and then I started crying. I kept saying, 'I look like a little boy!'"

"My biggest regret is dyeing my hair orange and cutting my bangs," Cyrus joked. "But I don't listen to advice about my makeup or hair or what I wear. I do look to Lady Gaga all the time, though. Everything about her is perfect."

Cyrus is very vocal about her experience with online bullying. "My mom told me these extensions were going to be good," she said of this look at the 2014 American Music Awards. "Perez Hilton attacked me for this outfit and made me cry for hours."

Cyrus did her own makeup for a benefit in 2015. "I remember breaking out on my forehead that day and I got bullied really badly," Cyrus said. "People started sending me pictures of my forehead. But I remember that outfit being poppin'."

Stars have been known to step outside of the box for the MTV Video Music Awards. Clearly, Cyrus got the memo. "These double buns were my idea," she said. "Right before this, I had purple hair and that was the only way I liked my hair when it was purple. Shout out to Jeffree Star for sending me this lipstick."

Cyrus has had a bunch of cool hair looks over the years, but this one might be our favorite. "I love a good bun," Cyrus said. "But I didn't do my makeup and my makeup artist forgot to do my eyebrows for this. I was really sad."

Just a few months ago, Cyrus attended the 2016 American Music Awards. "Loved everything about this look. But it was raining that day, so my makeup got all messed up and my hair was really flat," she said. "I had extensions in this picture, but I've taken them out since. I can't do them anymore because they started ripping my hair out. It was awful!"
