UPDATE: Harrison Ford Expected To Make A Full Recovery Following Plane Crash

Updated on 03/06 at 9:45 a.m.:  Harrison Ford is doing considerably better following a crash landing yesterday at Penmar Golf Course in Venice, CA. Federal Aviation Administration officials report that the actor was attempting to return to the airport after experiencing engine troubles during takeoff.  "Harrison was flying a WW2 vintage plane today which had engine trouble upon take off. He had no other choice but to make an emergency landing, which he did safely. He was banged up and is in the hospital receiving medical care. The injuries sustained are not life threatening, and he is expected to make a full recovery," Ford's publicist said in a statement. His son Ben said Ford was doing well over Twitter. "Dad is ok. Battered, but ok!," he tweeted. "He is every bit the man you would think he is." (ABC) Original Post Published 03/05 at 7:00 p.m.: Harrison Ford, 72, was involved in a solo plane crash today. TMZ reports the actor has sustained serious head injuries after crash landing his vintage World War II fighter plane on a golf course in Los Angeles. Ford was piloting the two-seater plane and was the only person onboard. Emergency personnel were called soon after it went down, and Ford is said to have gotten up and walked away from the scene. Variety reports that he is in critical condition at a nearby hospital. Ford has been flying planes for some time now, and this is not the first time he's crash landed, according to Us Weekly. There are currently no details concerning what went wrong, beyond Variety noting that something mechanical might have malfunctioned. We will update you as the story develops.
