Hot Boutique ABC Carpet & Home Goes Zen!

We'll admit it, tranquility is not our middle name. We don't have a zen garden and we don't do much meditation, but when we heard about Donna Karan's new Urban Zen pop-up boutique within Manhattan's famed ABC Carpet & Home store, we were ready to get some inner peace. The stylishly spare pop-up, open now through April 22nd (Earth Day! Woo!), is full of earthy furniture, artisan made jewelry, and beauty items that make us swoon, plus the main store's "eco-intelligence just received a fiercely green shipment of all natural products! Look for the reclaimed teak lounger or the chairs stuffed with organic kapok tree fibers—plus Urban Zen donates 10% of sales to their foundation, which works to empower children internationally. After you've exhausted yourself shopping (who knew serenity was so tiring?), head straight to the brand new, in-store, organic farm-to-table restaurant ABC Kitchen. The ever-changing menu of locally sourced and globally artistic fare is the work of super-chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten. With dishes like sautéed arctic char with sweet garlic crumbs and romanesco cauliflower, and chocolate cake with melted ganache and toasted marshmallow icing, we're feeling more zen-like already.
