Apparently, nothing sells turkey quite like Turkey. Literally. Carl's Jr., the West Coast burger chain responsible for bringing together Paris Hilton, burgers, and a teeny, tiny bikini, has done it again. The company continues its tradition of cheeky, over-the-top food porn commercials with the reigning Miss Turkey 2010, Ms. Gizem Mimec. Yes, the real Miss Turkey.
In what can only be seen as a questionable move, the tiara and sash-wearing beauty queen nibbles on a burger while strolling poolside in a recent Carl's Jr. TV spot for the new Charbroiled Turkey Burger. During the commercial, Ms. Mimec doffs her red pageant gown to reveal a bikini festooned all over with tiny turkey burgers. Paris Hilton, she's definitely not. But amongst the extreme close-up shots of her burger and bikini, we wonder, is this what it takes to sell turkey? Watch for yourselves:
