Designer Rachel Roy recently made an appearance at Macys’s to debut her new “Rachel” by Rachel Roy line. Not only does she have a love for the Midwest, but her exact words were: “They remind me of good-hearted people who want to be chic.” Rachel chatted with us on her advice for entering the fashion world as a professional, “It may not [have happened] when I wanted it to happen, but it happened when I was ready for it to happen. You need to let go, believe in yourself, and know that the universe will bless you when the universe is ready.” In 2009, the designer launched Rachel by Rachel Roy, which she describes as a “younger sister" line, introduced in the heart of the recession. When asked about her fave summer trend, Roy quickly replied: “I am really in to maxis right now; I think they are so chic, and if you want to channel anyone I would do Bianca Jagger circa 1974."
