    When a big-name retailer comes out with a truly inspiring and cool lookbook, our eyes really perk up. Take Zara’s latest, for example. The Spanish retailer always knocks it out of the park clothing — and accessories —wise, but its the monthly lookbooks that really hold the magic.

    For September, it’s a series of muted photos that recall candid street style shots: A group of leggy, ponytailed models hanging out in a European public square, chatting and looking like they’re on their way to some place important. It’s as conversational as a series of branded photos can be, and there’s plenty of meaningful clutch-holding and selfie-taking to please even the most vehement of naysayers.

    Oh, the clothes are sweet too — killer jackets in icy gray and dark blue with statement lapels and turtlenecks for days. This is how you woo us, chain retailers.
