5 Awesome Things To Do In L.A. This Week

If you're a bona-fide Coachella fan, the next few days will be a welcome bit of R&R before round two. But, if you're still looking to boogie between weekends, make sure to RSVP to our legendary DJ duel, or catch the ultra-talented Escondido at The Standard in Hollywood. For those of you more art-inclined, don't miss the opening of Urs Fischer's retrospective at MOCA, or a new string of home tours that will finally inspire to redecorate that spare room.
Food For Thought: Anthony Bourdain Delivers His Best Talking Points
Call us crass, but we'd love nothing more than a one-night stand with Anthony Bourdain. Luckily, the culinary world's longtime badass is visiting L.A., and this time, he's roped in local celeb chef Roy Choi for the SoCal, ahem, layover of his Guts & Glory tour. We're rearranging our dinner plans around this conversation — are you?
When: Tuesday, April 16, 7:30 p.m.
Where: Pantages Theatre, 6233 Hollywood Boulevard (near Vine Street); 323-468-1770.

Love R29? Love to party? Have we got the perfect plans for you! Tomorrow night, make your way to No Vacancy in Hollywood for an epic battle of the beats, courtesy of our friends at The Embassy. No matter where you stand in the girls versus boys debate, don't forget to wear your boogie best — we'll have a photog on-hand to capture every (sartorial) moment.

Coachella-Worthy Sounds In A More Convenient, Luxe Setting
You've heard them over the airwaves, you've seen them on Conan, and now experience Escondido in the flesh this Wednesday as they headline the latest installment of Desert Sessions at The Standard in Hollywood. Considering Tyler James and Jessica Maros' vibe is Nashville-meets-Laurel Canyon, we can't think of a more appropriate spot for this intimate concert.
When: Wednesday, April 17, 7:30 p.m.
Where: The Standard Hotel — Hollywood, 8300 West Sunset Boulevard (near North Sweetzer Avenue); 323-650-9090.

In addition to a charged iPhone (for Instagram snaps, naturally), we recommend some comfortable walking shoes! )Added bonus: The ticket price also includes general admission to the Venice Art Walk and Auctions even on Sunday, May 19.)

Feast Your Eyes On Everything Urs Fischer Has To Offer (And More!)
You know an artist means serious business when they take up not one, but two gallery spaces for a retrospective. Swiss-born Urs Fischer will be showing his work at both MOCA Grand Avenue and The Geffen Contemporary at MOCA starting this Sunday. Occupying a total of 65,000-square-feet, there'll be more mind-blowing material than the eye can see, including that group-sculpture effort we can't wait to witness!
When: Sunday, April 21, through Monday, August 19
Where: MOCA Grand Avenue, 250 South Grand Avenue (between West 2nd and West 3rd streets); 213-626-6222; The Geffen Contemporary at MOCA, 152 North Central Avenue (at East 1st Street); 213-626-6222.
