UPDATE: 'Twas the week before Thanksgiving, which means you need to start prepping — fuel up on these tasty desserts. This story was originally published on November 16.
Chocolate. Sour gummy worms. Ice cream (with hot fudge). Nutella. Apple pie. This may or may not be a catalog of what we ate this weekend. But, what we're not so subtlety trying to convey is that in the inner struggle between our healthy-leaning mind and our sweet tooth, the latter always wins. We go to birthdays (and weddings) for the cake. We hit up cocktail parties for the mini cupcakes.
Often Sometimes, we even — gasp — skip the main course and head straight to the bottom of the menu. So, yes, we're dessertarians, and we are proud of it.
To prove it, we sampled as many of NYC's autumnal sweets as humanely possible (tough job, we know), and we're here to bring you — after a near-fatal food coma — our findings. Our 411 on the best desserts to indulge in this fall includes everything from classics like a deep-dish pumpkin pie to exotic debuts in the form of, say, a leopard-print, molten chocolate cake. So, yeah, we've definitely got your sweet-tooth covered. Scratch that: your entire grill.
