5 Things To Do This Week In L.A.

This week's charitable itinerary is proof that the giving spirit isn't reserved just for the holidays. Whether you've got a soft spot for slices or are looking for a laugh, we've lined up a list of events that are not only fun, but totally philanthropic, too. Plus, with so many outdoor activities on deck, we can still hold on to summer for just a bit longer (even if it means pulling out the pashmina around dusk). Happy October, folks!
Grab A Slice For (Crazy) Cheap At Mulberry Street Pizza
Sure, we love those artisan pies from Mozza and the like, but sometimes we just crave a simple slice, à la Mulberry Street. For one day only, get a true taste of delicious NYC-style pizza for just 20 cents a pop! Feel free to indulge in a few extra pieces — all proceeds will be donated to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Disease Research.
When: Wednesday, October 3
Where: Mulberry Street Pizza, 347 North Canon Drive (between Brighton and Dayton ways); at 310-247-8998.
Music Festival Season Isn't Over Yet!
Filter Magazine has invited some of our fave performers (of Montreal, The Wombats, The Big Pink, and Zola Jesus to name a few!) for the four-day Culture Collide music festival that will knock your socks off! We're most looking forward to the grand finale — a free, all-out block party complete with Coolhaus ice-cream sandwiches and more. Just remember to RSVP here!
When: Thursday, October 4 to Sunday, October 7
Where: Reservoir Street (between Sunset Boulevard and Alvarado Street), no phone.
Goldenvoice, KCRW, and Origami Vinyl Present Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti
The wordy band Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti will be on hand to perform tracks from its latest album, "Mature Themes," after BODYGUARD and Dam Funk take the stage. Tickets are about $30 each — a small price to pay to catch some of L.A.'s coolest cats.
When: Friday, October 5, 9 p.m.
Where: The Fonda Theatre, 6126 Hollywood Boulevard (near North Gower Street); 323-464-0808.
Game On! Join Celebs For The L.A. Polo Classic
Hosted by Veuve Clicquot, this event in the Palisades is the perfect way to unwind after a long week. Grab some champs and get ready to spot some A-listers as they stomp divots, still looking nothing short of glitterati-glam. We think just witnessing Nacho Figueras in all of his polo-playing goodness is worth the $25 price tag!
When: Saturday, October 6, 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Where: Will Rogers Historic State Park, 1501 Will Rogers State Park Road (near Sunset Boulevard); 310-454-8212.
The Must-See Drag Show Of The Season
Kathy Griffin, Melanie Griffith, and Lisa Rinna are just a few of the celeb judges that will vote for this year's Best In Drag show. Take a peek at some of the contestants and you'll be booking your tickets stat! Whether you opt for the pricey front row or more reasonable balcony, your dollars will be well spent with proceeds donated to Aid For AIDS.
When: Sunday, October 7, 8 p.m.
Where: The Orpheum Theatre, 842 South Broadway (near West 9th Street); 877-677-4386.
