See London, See France, See Our Girl Harley In Dream-Worthy Araks

New York-based Araks Yeramyan studied fashion design at Parsons (with a brief stint at Central Saint Martins in London, as well), then launched a collection of lingerie inspired by Malik Sidibé and Seydou Keïta's malian portraiture. Clearly, the designer is no stranger to the arts, so she's recruited creatives –– artistic and otherwise –– for a collab-heavy lookbook for her latest offering under the eponymous line, Araks.
The process sounds as liberating as the unmentionables themselves: With Araks providing the eco-friendly separates and a disposable cam, the photographers –– ranging from the designer's intimate friends to industry-insiders to Hollywood heavyweights –– supplied images boasting low-resolutions, unexpected angles, unexpected models, and unexpected poses. Cue Tracy Feith's shot of the Joan panty modeled by a fuscia teddy bear, or Alexa Chung's portrait of Harley Viera-Newton takin' it off to reveal a pink bralett. For the Tia boxer, we love that Michelle Williams photographed that ab-curling instant of a late-night punch-line, and the one from casting director-come-Tales of Endearment scribe Natalie Joos, who has pictured herself in the middle of dress-up, smacking on a shockingly pink YSL gloss while wearing the Shelby PJ top. But, the prize for the best setting has got to go to stylist Natasha Royt, who, in sight of a tractor, chose the double-yellow of the small town thoroughfare to backdrop the Mirabella hipster. Sexy asphalt, indeed!
