How Inspiration Strikes: Peep A Madewell Design Team Field Trip

When Madewell needs a dose of inspiration, they really go for it, as evidenced by the field trip the team recently took through the Wild West. After 2,000 miles of ghost towns, desert vistas, and tumbleweed-trails, their Rivet & Thread Heritage Denim Collection was born. Says head designer Kin Ying Lee, "We wanted to get back to the roots of what Madewell is — and what denim is all about to us. So, we hit the road, and reconnected with all the things that we built ourselves on. We met real cowboys, drove along tons of dusty highways, and saw some amazing vintage jeans along the way. We came home really, really inspired!"
