These Celebrity Artists Outdid Their Own Clients On Halloween

These days, the makeup artists and hairstylists behind our favorite celebrity looks are as well-known as the celebrities themselves. Jen Atkin, Patrick Ta, and Tokyo Stylez are name-dropped almost as often as their famous counterparts (Kim Kardashian, Gigi Hadid, and Kylie Jenner, respectively) and they've got the follower counts to prove it.
So on Halloween, when we're refreshing Instagram constantly to see who dressed up as what, it's only appropriate that these pros took centerstage and even outdid their glitzy clientele lists. These costumes are at the top of our best-dressed list this year — and it makes sense why: They've got the skills (and the friends) to hook them all the way up. See some of the best transformations, ahead.

Hairstylist Gregory Russell was spot-on as Axl Rose — down to the flowing hair (duh) and one seriously convincing fake tat.

No lie: I seriously thought that makeup artist Japan was Teyana Taylor as I mindlessly scrolled through my Instagram feed.

Hairstylist Jen Atkin and her husband Mike Rosenthal make a pretty convincing (and damn cute) Napoleon Dynamite duo.

You gotta love makeup artist Patrick Ta, who dressed as a creepy mummy — but didn't forget that signature contour.

Hairstylist and wig designer Tokyo Stylez nailed his Kim Kardashian Met Gala makeup, bleached brows and all. Oh, and you know he did his own wig, too.

Oh did you think Japan was done? The next night, the stylist was queening as Lil' Kim.

Hairstylist Ken Paves recorded his entire process transforming into Eric Draven from The Crow, which actually makes us wish we had one more day to copy it.

Don't be fooled by the pic: this is (once again) Tokyo Stylez, not Jenny From The Block.
