Bindi Irwin Picked The Perfect Song To Honor Her Dad On Dancing With The Stars

Bindi Irwin knocked our socks off on Dancing With the Stars last night and her tribute to her father, wildlife extraordinaire Steve Irwin, made the show all the sweeter. Bindi — who told People she's participating in the series to honor her dad, who passed away in 2006 — picked a song that's near and dear to her heart for a recent performance. Donning a green sparkly costume, she took to the dance floor alongside Derek Hough for a performance to the Elton John song, "Crocodile Rock." The pair nailed it: watch the whole dance here. "It's my theme song," Bindi explained. "My dad liked that song. My mum liked that song." Seems totally appropriate, particularly after the Irwin family's work has continued in her famous pop's stead over the last decade. A week ago, she left the following sweet message on her Instagram account, commemorating Father's Day in Australia: "Everyone is celebrating at Australia Zoo," she wrote. "It's such a special time of year, I hope everyone who comes to the zoo today is able to enjoy it with our gorgeous animals. No matter where I am in the world, this day means such a lot to me. My heart forever lives @AustraliaZoo — just like Dad's always did." Keep rocking, Bindi. We're rooting for you!
