Rare Photos Of Princess Diana’s Wedding Emerge

It's been 34 years since Princess Diana wed Prince Charles. Their union spawned Will and Harry, not to mention a messy royal scandal, divorce, and impure thoughts about feminine hygiene products. But, before all that, they were just two crazy kids who may have not been in love, necessarily, but had everything on paper going for them.
Now, unseen photos from their 1981 royal wedding are hitting the auction block. RR Auction is selling a stash of original candid snaps from an assistant to wedding photographer Patrick Litchfield, with a minimum bid of $300. Bidding doesn't begin until September 17, but the photos are available for viewing now for everyone to enjoy.
The couple were wed at St. Paul's Cathedral on July 29, 1981, but the photos focus on their reception held at Buckingham Palace. There's Queen Elizabeth II keeping an eye on the telly; the beautiful bride fussing with her dress; and, as Will and Kate would do decades later, the newlyweds greeting the crowds from the balcony.
Alas, fairy tales don't always come with happy endings. Still, it's nice to see the late Di on the most important day of her life. Click through for a selection of snaps.
