Kendall Jenner Shows Us How Double Denim Is Done

While double denim may be the easiest go-to, lazy-chic outfit out there, pulling off the look can be tricky. If your denim hues are too close in shade, you risk looking too monochrome and are just asking for a “Canadian tuxedo” reference. Plus, if you wear too rugged of shoes, you come off looking a tad sloppy or like you’re headed to an ‘80s-themed line dancing party. So, leave it to It model and street style star Kendall Jenner to school us on how double denim is done — while shopping for a puppy, no less. (Now, that’s a shot that will break the Internet — with cuteness.)
First off, Jenner didn’t just wear any old pair of jeans. She opted for kicked up, patched skinnies by Black Orchid. The multi-color patches added an extra dimension to the overall palette. Like a pro, she also made sure that her top as an elevated, blouse-y silhouette and a shade lighter than the bottoms. She then broke up all-denim look with a black belt that avoided looking too cowboy with a smattering of studs. Her mirrored silver Barbara Bui booties and plush Balenciaga bag added a level of sophistication to Jenner's otherwise ultra-relaxed outfit. Did you take notes?
