Man Calls 911 In Mortal Fear Of His Cat

Cats can be soft, furry, adorable friends that cheer you up at the end of the day. If you're Taylor Swift, they can even be your alarm clock. Or, maybe they are also deadly predators who will turn on you and your family without warning. That appeared to be the view of one man in Stamford, Connecticut, who was scared enough to call 911 on his own pet earlier this week. At approximately 1:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Mohammed Lokman called for help after a three-hour stand-off with his 7.5 lb cat, CBS New York reports. "I have a problem in my home," he told the incredulous dispatcher. "I cannot go inside my home." ("You said a cat?" she repeated back to him.) Turns out, the feline in question had given birth to a kitten the night before and apparently became aggressive when the man left the house and then attempted to return, leaving Lokman and his wife to seek refuge in their car for several hours before placing the 911 call. "I was inside and she attacked me, and she scratched me in my leg and bite me," Lokman explained to the dispatcher. "So me and my wife, we come outside and now we cannot go in the home like for three, four hours, We cannot move. We cannot do anything. It's so aggressive and so mean." After speaking with police, who advised Lokman to stay away from the cat for the rest of the night, the couple was eventually able to get back into their home and all are reportedly now getting along fine. Just goes to show, we suppose: Don't mess with a new mama. FYI, the ASPCA recommends calling the vet if your cat displays aggression, not the police.
