Shailene Woodley Just Served Some Major Short-Hair Inspiration

The recipient of this year's MTV Movie Awards Trailblazer trophy was none other than Shailene Woodley, the proudly outspoken celebrity who's discussed everything from sunning her vagina to making her own cheese. (Basically, this award was made from her.) In all seriousness, it's hard not to love Woodley, especially after she kicked serious ass in Insurgent and won our hearts in The Fault in Our Stars. Then, of course, there's her penchant for bold lips on the red carpet (normally red, but also sometimes a bright pink). As for her hair, she rocks that pixie cut in a couple of different ways, opting either for messy texture or for a slicked-back look.  This time, though, she wore an inverted French braid — placed right at the front of her head, wrapping towards the back. In the beginning, it had a very neat, sleek texture, which got messier as it went along, showing of the nuances of her hair color.  The rest of her hair was kept slightly messy (you could achieve the same vibe with Bumble's Surf Infusion if you've got thinner strands), but the thing we like most about Woodley's look is that it could easily be replicated on anyone who has the right amount of length — regardless of texture. In fact, since the braid makes one side of the head sleek and neat, it allows you to play with major volume elsewhere. Just pair it with a killer red lip (Woodley's wearing a mix of Burt's Bees Lip Crayons in Napa Vineyard and Redwood Forest), and you're good to go.
