Why You Need A Denim Pencil Skirt, Courtesy Of Kylie Jenner

It’s been a while since jean skirts had a major moment, so it’s about time to dig the grade-school staple out for a proper revival. Kylie Jenner wasn’t even old enough to dress herself the last time they were a thing, but that doesn’t mean she can’t help bring dungaree bottoms back.
Yesterday, she was spotted doing some shopping in a distressed denim skirt, but instead of the thigh-skimming hem of yore, she opted for a slightly more conservative pencil silhouette. You may not expect to get tons of mileage out of a knee-length number in the same fabric as your well-worn skinnies, but the piece is surprisingly versatile.
Jenner embraced double-denim, knotting a chambray button-up at her navel. Of course, there’s no need to go matchy-matchy; you could wear it with virtually anything, from a cropped sweater to a classic striped tee. Jenner's jean-on-jean look happens to work so well because she stuck with similar hues and kept the accessories understated. Lace-up Jeffrey Campbell boots and a furry 3.1 Phillip Lim bag brought some luxe sophistication to her faded blues, making the outfit more Ralph Lauren Americana than Britney Spears at the 2001 AMAs. Here’s how to get the look yourself — no Justin Timberlake tandem-dressing necessary.
