Michael Jackson Used To Prank Call Russell Crowe

The king of pop was a musical genius who liked to a joke around. Like, a lot. Maybe too much. In a recent promotion for The Water Diviner in Europe, Russell Crowe revealed that Michael Jackson would prank call him all the time. After finding out the alias Crowe was using, Jackson would jokingly call his hotel room. This wasn't a one-time thing: In a recent interview with The Guardian, Crowe said the prank calls continued for "two or three fucking years."  Sure, it's kind of funny to think about. Just imagine Jackson's voice on the other end of your phone. But, things change from funny to weird very quickly when Crowe explained that the two had never met. It's little odd to think about the lengths at which one would go to prank call someone they didn't even know.  It seems like Jackson was just looking for some lighthearted fun, and Crowe cited this old joke as an example of what Jackson would say on the line.  "He’d ring up do this kind of thing...'Is Mr. Wall there? Is Mrs. Wall there? Are there any walls there? Then what's holding the roof up? Ha Ha.'" Crowe recalled. The jokes might have been elementary, but they were obviously effective. Cue "Remember The Time." It doesn't look like Russell Crowe will ever forget those times.  You'd except people would grow out of the prank call phase — it seems Crowe did — but let's keep in mind this is the beloved, late Michael Jackson we're talking about. He had an amusement park in his backyard! Maybe some of us don't have to be well-mannered adults — at least not all the time. [The Guardian]
