Country star and certified VH1 Diva Shania Twain announced bittersweet news this morning. Speaking with Good Morning America's Robin Roberts, Twain revealed she will be going on tour this year. Now, for the bitter part: It's going to be her last. "I'm finally, after 11 years, going back on tour," she said. "This is going to be a big tour for me, because it's going to be my last." Man, it feels like the end of an era. Twain, who turns 50 this year, will be taking her Rock This Country tour to 48 states. It kicks off June 5 in Seattle. It'll be a departure from her two-year Vegas residency, and will have what she calls "an after-party" vibe. "I just really want to go out with a bang," she said. Now, the whole "farewell" tour thing could be just a gimmick. The Rolling Stones and Cher have been putting on "farewell" tours for years. Twain said she's working on a new album, and we all know touring is where the big bucks are found. But, hey! She could change her mind a million times. Rest assured she'll be the first to hear us saying, "Yeah! We like it that way!" (USA Today) More Music Coverage This Way:
