2015’s Best, Worst, & Weirdest Oscar-Themed Recipes

Every February, mixologists, chefs, and other food-industry figures come together to generate a host of new party recipes based on this year's Academy Award nominees. The results are usually mixed in terms of quality. Sometimes, you get an easy win, like Gatsby's Summer Punch. Other times, you wind up with Captain Phillips Shaky-Cam Chicken Skewers. And, then, it's kind of awkward.
The lesson seems obvious: Not all movies lend themselves to party snacks. How does one express the historic tragedy of Alan Turing in a cocktail? What appetizer encompasses the bloody triumph of the Voting Rights Act of 1965? It seems an impossible task. But, we applaud the food-and-drink industry for trying — really, really hard. 2015 yielded some instant classics, some of which you might enjoy serving at your own Oscars party this Sunday. Others, well, you've got to respect their creativity.
A for effort, guys.
