Jaden Smith Drops New EP, Puts His Twitter Thoughts To Music

Sweet intergalactic prince of Twitter deep thoughts Jaden Smith released a new album. It's only three songs, which normally constitutes an EP, but Jaden lives outside the box. If he tells us this is an album, then who are we to argue? For what it’s worth, This Is The Album is pretty solid. Jaden delivers his verses like a philosophical Aubrey Graham, though his feelings aren't sported on his sleeve. They're more like wisps of existential thought flowing out of his mouth in a stream of consciousness — a little nonsensical, but oddly on point. He also released a music video for "4 My 1" that features a brief Justin Bieber cameo. (Look away for a hot second and you’ll miss his bleach-licked head.) Perhaps this album is what Jaden's Twitter feed has been leading up to. Perhaps all the time he's been tweeting proverbs for the new age has been a practice in lyrical poetry. "The funny thing about life is," he raps on "4 My 1," "I'll forget it when I write this." Alright, Jaden. We see you.
