New Accuser Could Bring Cosby To Court

Chloe Goins, one of Bill Cosby's 33 accusers, took her case to the police yesterday. Thus far, she is the first accuser to come forward whose claim falls within the statute of limitations — meaning Cosby could face legal action. Goins was 18 when she claims to have been drugged by Cosby at a party at the Playboy Mansion in 2008, waking up naked to find him licking her toes and masturbating. After remaining silent for years, like so many survivors of assault, Goins decided to speak up when she realized she wasn't the only one victimized by Cosby. Her attorney, Spencer Kuvin, spoke to the press outside LAPD headquarters, saying, "She saw other women telling their story. At that time, she realized she was the only one who could potentially bring criminal charges." Kuvins declined to comment on the details of their meeting with police, but believes his client has a viable case to bring charges. "That is up for the police to determine," Kuvins said, "but we believe that it does fall within the statute for California." LAPD spokesperson, Andy Smith, also addressed reporters, but would not comment Goins' specific allegations. "We will take a report from anybody, and we'll initiate an investigation on any allegations of criminal misconduct," Smith stated. "We will push forward with an investigation on that case."
