Somewhere — perhaps even now — a group of 90 or so journalists and photographers have surveyed a whole year's worth of movies and television. Together, they've narrowed down hours of content and a bunch of performances into categories, nominated them, and ultimately chosen who and what was the best of the best of the last 365 days of entertainment. How hard could it be to predict what they'll pick?
Very — but people like us still try to play Hollywood Foreign Press oracle anyway. It's like March Madness for the entertainment crowd — except with less beer and more Champagne.
We're not saying the following Golden Globe predictions are the be-all end-all. For all we know, Boyhood — despite all the award-season buzz it's received — could flounder. (How many think pieces would that spawn?) We've placed a lot of bets on it, though.
